WRs Injured & Other Ramblings

Donnie Avery, WR Rams, is out for the season, that’s a shame since the Rams don’t have any weapons and a rookie QB.  Stay away from them all, including Steven Jackson, he can’t run if the defense can just play the run.

Brett Favre is back, but, S. Rice is out for half the season, you didn’t draft too early did you?  I told you guys not to do that. To make matters worse, Percey Harvin is having serious migrane issues which is one of those things that have no time frame and may never go away.  It’s hard to say not to take Brett Favre, but I wouldn’t at this point.  I would avoid both of those WRs also.

Adrian Peterson will benefit from this WR mess though, since they should use him even more.   He is the #1 RB, not Chris Johnson in my opinion.  We will see at the end of the season.

The Cardinals offense is horrible without Kurt Warner.  Matt Leinart can’t seem to keep the starting job and although you can’t stay away from Larry Fitzgerald and Bennie Wells has looked pretty good, the rest of the team should be off your radar.

Aaron Rodgers is the #1 QB in fantasy football, it took me a while to accept that, but he has convinced me.  This year, Tony Romo will be #2.  Drew Brees #3, Payton Manning #4.   I think it really drops off from there, including Tom Brady who I think is done as far as putting up the amazing fantasy numbers he used to put up every year.  So, if you can’t get one of those guys, which you really should try and do since they are better than any RB or WR, then there is a big drop off till Brady, Favre, Schaub, Rivers and Kolb.  There isn’t much difference between those guys and then you have the rest, of the rest, the biggest upside is Detroits Matthew Stafford, anyone else is going to make you wish you had taken one of the guys I mentioned.

Brian Westbrook Finally Gets A Job

I can’t believe it took this long, it’s the injuries I’m sure, but the 49rs have picked up running back Brian Westbrook to be Frank Gore’s back up.

I’m not sure how much Westbrook will get the ball, too soon to tell, but if you grab Frank Gore, not something I would recommend since he has too many 40 yard games and not enough TDs, but if you do pick him, then you should take Westbrook as your back up in case he gets injured.  Westbrook has plenty of upside, since he catches the ball for big plays out of the backfield, at least he used to.

You could just grab him even if you don’t have Gore of course, if you can get him as a late round steal, otherwise, only take him if you have Gore.

Brett Favre Coming Back!

Brett Favre is coming back to play this year.  That’s really all you need to know about that.  He’s a #1 Fantasy QB.

Brett Favre, Chris Johnson, Andre Johnson & Tom Brady

Chris Johnson is happy with his new pay check, he is #1 or #2 in any fantasy league.  I think he’s #2, but that’s debatable.

Brett Favre says he will come back if he is healthy.  I would risk it on draft day if you have not done so already.

Andre Johnson wants more money and he just might get it, either way, he’s not the type where this would effect his play.

Tom Brady is in the last year of his contract and is not happy that the Patriots have not taken care of him up to this point, I think he is someone that this would effect on the field however, the Patriots will most likely take care of their star.

Brett Favre

NFL.com is reporting that Brett Favre will not return this season.  This reduces the value of all Vickings Receivers, but does increase the value of Adrian Peterson, since the Vickings will now be forced to rely on the run game more.  I would stay away of the Vickings QBs.
